Samsung to Supply Mobile WiMAX Equipment to Bayanat Al-Oula

Samsung has signed a two-year mobile WiMAX contract with Saudi Arabian telecom Bayanat Al-Oula. Under this agreement, Samsung will provide Bayanat Al-Oula with mobile WiMAX equipment to help this company construct WiBro infrastructure in the cities of Riyadh, Mecca, Jeddah, and Dammam. Commercial mobile WiMAX services in the four regions are expected to kick off in July, 2007, and will be expanded nationwide. Samsung claimed the US$100 million deal to be the largest mobile WiMAX contract in Middle East.
